Highlights of the WNBA All-Star game: Olympians lose, but Arike Ogunbowale earns MVP
After receiving a motivational speech from coach Cheryl Miller, Ogunbowale scored 34 points (10-for-20 FG) in the second half after being held scoreless in the first. She helped Team WNBA increase their lead to as much as 20 points by making eight of her thirteen three-point attempts. Ogunbowale finished with three rebounds, two steals, and six assists.
With her 10 assists, Caitlin Clark broke the rookie record, and Angel Reese became the first rookie in history to record a double-double with 11 rebounds and 12 points scored. Allisha Gray contributed 16 points. On Friday, she won both the skills competition and the 3-point shooting challenge.
With 31 points, Breanna Stewart lead Team USA. Diana Taurasi scored 14, while A'ja Wilson contributed 22.
